On March 8th, 2023, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the “40 over 40” project VIP opening night was held, bringing together all the amazing women who were featured. This project, by Oliver Doran, showcases women who have achieved significant milestones in their lives after the age of 40.
The project is more than just a series of stunning photographs of inspiring women. It is also an opportunity for each participant to step out of their comfort zone and embrace their beauty, inside and out. Oliver Doran and his team of professional hair and makeup artists work with each woman to create different looks and experiment with hairstyles until they feel absolutely fabulous.
Oliver Doran says, “Quite often women are really stepping out of their comfort zone.. but that’s where the magic happens. They arrive at their shoot quite nervous and settle down after they see themselves looking more and more fabulous in the mirror while they get their hair and makeup done by our professional MUA.”
In addition to the photo shoot, each participant is also interviewed on video, answering questions about their lives and offering advice to their younger selves. One popular question was “What would you give your 20-something self one piece of advice?”
The “40 over 40” project is a powerful reminder that age is just a number, and that women can achieve incredible things at any stage in their lives. As Oliver Doran says, “I hate the idea that some women start to feel invisible as they get older. It doesn’t have to be that way!”
