A fun shoot i conducted on chroma key background. Recently been playing around with chroma key and it can be quite satisfying. Miguel De Leon is the model and my good friend Eddie Sanyer on the hair!
This shot was taken from the beach with my trusted assistant Joel Gabriel. We worked as a team to demonstrate how creative you can get in the evening… especially in city environments. I was conducting a night time photography class for a Filipino club called Tropa. All ex students of one of the most well establishshed universities in the Philippines.
Infact, some of the group were only using compact cameras… and they got very similar results compared to my Nikon D3s !!! Just to prove that its not the camera you use its what you do with it. I’ll try and get the shot from the compact so you can see the difference !
BTW: thats me in the shot silhouetted.
From this post date, I’ll be adding images from of my work retrospectively and try to keep it updated with my new projects.
Cruize aka Neil D’Cruz
I love this capture taken in my studio. It’s only one shot with some small tweaks on contrast. Just a long exposure with very low ambient light. Probably a two or three second shutter with two flashes fired manually and a green torch lighting the guitar. Great to experiment with these guys. If your reading Nikotin… it’d be great to do some more! Check out http://www.reverbnation.com/nikotinmusic
I love when my clients are willing to get creative. This was a pre-wedding shoot arranged primarily so Yannick and Sara understood the way I work and so that Sara could feel more relaxed and comfortable for the wedding day. It paid off! We were able to capture some shots we are really happy with…. both at Bastakiya and at the wedding itself the following week
Joel Gabriel assisted me on this shoot while we walked, talked and photographed… we had a great time and i had the opportunity to speak French with Yannick. On top of that, as you can see Yannick and Sara are keen Salsa dancers and i love shooting dancers!
With only 20 minutes to shoot and already other photographers from press houses eagerly waiting for their time with the Michelin chef, Giorgio. We fired off a few safe shots with a couple of strobes and umbrellas. Wanting to see how much I could push him, i asked Giorgio if we could head for the kitchen to get some “action shots”. He agreed! Jihane the editor of Aqua Vitae Magazine, whom I was shooting for gave me the nod and Giorgio was keen as mustard!!.. or truffle mybe!
Chivas Legends Dinner 2012
Colin was invited to be the 2012 legend for the Chivas Regal Legends Dinner. We took this portrait before the event in a private room. Colin was extremely courteous and was very easy to photograph. He is an absolute gentleman just like in some of his characters getting him to pose was a breeze. After the shoot, we went downstairs to cover the event with the rest of my team. Special thanks to Joel Gabriel who assisted me on this shoot.
This delicious wedding in Dubai late November 2010, just when Dubai’s ferocious summer is starting just to be part our distant memories and we can truly appreciate Mediterranean style climate… this is Nicolas and Aser’s big day. I was covering this wedding with my good friend Ivana Maglione, a formidable wedding photographer though specialising mostly in Arabic, female only weddings. For this wedding Ivana was in charge of capturing Aser and the ladies. My job, partly because I am half French and speak it fluently, was in charge Nicolas and the boys. The day was full of surprises, emotions and the mix of nations from France to West Africa made for a beautiful cultural cocktail!
