This isn’t a graduation photo. It’s a conversation about who they’re becoming, led by someone who’s had to work that out for himself more than once — followed by a portrait that actually reflects it. The kind of thing they’ll still mean something to in ten years.
One more thing, practically speaking. A lot of families use a moment like this — a graduation, a gap year send-off, a first job — as an excuse to get everyone together anyway. If that’s you, ask me about turning the day into a proper family portrait session too. Different budget, same visit, and you’ll walk away with two things worth keeping instead of one.

Meet Oliver
I’m Oliver — a photographer based in Jersey. For years I shot commercial campaigns and brands, working with global names and international magazines. Then everything fell apart in 2020, and I found myself starting again from nothing, back in my mum’s house.
What I found on the other side of that was portrait work — sitting with people, one at a time, helping them see themselves clearly. I thought I was stepping down. Turned out to be the thing I was actually meant to be doing.
I’ve spent the last five or six years running sessions I’ve half-jokingly nicknamed “brand therapy” — I’m not a therapist, just someone who’s had to work out who he was more than once, and picked up a thing or two about doing it properly. This project is for anyone standing at that same edge right now.
